But viewers grumbled about being distracted by screaming coming from the studio audience after his skate.

Connor and his pro skating partner Alexandra Shauman (ITV)

They tagged in the official Dancing On Ice Twitter account and hashtag and the ITV account as they had their say.

@Donna_Maisey tweeted: "#dancingonice please remove the screamer."

@Janine_Dev complained: "God what is that screaming from the audience on #dancingonice. So annoying!"

@Carolin80639889 grumbled: "@dancingonice who the heck was screaming during the applause after Connors turn just now..... switch her off!!!!"

@mrsb__19 commented: "Skipping through channels and I put Dancing on Ice on - for the first time ever. Is it me or audience squeals at just any random leg flick."

@WeeChrissieB pleaded: "Stop the screaming!"

@Kimbohud complained: "I’d NEVER want to see a @bbcstrictly or @dancingonice live show … because I just know I’d get the audience screamer right behind me!

"Whooping is fine - but screaming….. nope!"

And @DeaconTF typed to ITV: "Dear @ITV who on earth thought people watching #dancingonice would want to listen to someone screaming?

"We’ve switched over because of it but can still hear it from next door. Really??"
