Denise Van Outen has been rushed to A&E after an accident during rehearsals took place just hours ahead of Dancing on Ice’s debut episode.

The 46-year-old shared photos of herself being treated by paramedics on social media. She thanked the NHS for looking after her despite being “overstretched” amid the pandemic.

“Told you I’m clumsy on ice,” joked the presenter.

According to The Sun on Sunday, Van Outen suffered a “partial dislocation and tendon damage” to her left shoulder.

The accident comes only hours before the actor is scheduled to star opposite her professional partner Matt Evers in ITV’s Dancing on Ice.

The televised competition is returning to screens tonight (17 January) for its 13th season, with 12 new celebrities taking part in the popular series.

Van Outen told The Sun that the injury has “really affected my ability to move my left arm” and revealed that “it’s touch and go as to whether I can skate tonight”.

Despite concerns that the show would be cancelled amid the ongoing pandemic, the hit series is going ahead with safety measures in place, including the absence of a live audience this year.
