Dancing on Ice confirm Kevin Kilbane as ex-Sunderland player gets his skates on for new series

Three celebrities have now been confirmed for Dancing on Ice 2020, with a famous footballer joining Love Island's Maura Higgins and TV host Michael Barrymore on the lineup.

to be taking part on the next series of the ITV show on Tuesday's This Morning and Maura won't be the only Irish star getting their skates on.

And that's because the third celeb to be confirmed for Dancing on Ice is none other than ex-Sunderland player and Irish international midfielder Kevin Kilbane.

Kevin appeared live on Talksport Radio on Wednesday and will now don his skates, alongside eleven other celebrities, in a bid to become champion of the ice. 

Each week the 12 celebrities will skate live with their professional partners in a bid to impress both the panel and the viewers, who will ultimately decide who wins the show.

This year sees John Barrowman join Torvill and Dean and Ashley Banjo on the panel.  Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby once again return to present the show. 

Michael Barrymore confirmed for Dancing on Ice 2020

On joining the show, Kevin said "I am going on as a total novice. I'm starting from scratch here. This is going to be a massive challenge for me.

"I've been taking it easy for the last few years since I finished (football) so let's just see how this one goes." 

Further reveals will take place throughout the week.
