Dancing On Ice chaos as Chris is forced to intervene in John Barrowman's spat with co-stars

Dancing On Ice descended into chaos tonight as Christopher Dean was forced to intervene in an on-air spat between John Barrowman and a number of his co-stars.

Libby Clegg and her professional partner Mark Hanretty had skated to I Wanna Be Like You from the Jungle Book for tonight's Movie Week.

The pair scored nines across the board after a risky neck spin and difficult slide - that is, apart from John Barrowman, who gave them an 8.5.

John was rather critical as he explained his reason behind the score: "I didn't like the bits on the floor, for me it didn't add anything special to it, but I thought the neck spin was awesome.

"It's the semi-finals next week and we're looking for spectacular."

However Ashley Banjo interrupted as he said: "If that isn't spectacular I don't know what is.

"It's easy to stand up and carry on but they didn't, they did something different.

"I'm in awe of you Libby."

Professional skater Mark agreed and hit back at John, who irritably snapped: "Don't mix my words!"

A frustrated Chris was up next to critique, however, and turned to John to ask: "Are you finished?!"

After Libby and Mark left the ice, the judges still continued to bicker as host Phillip Schofield wryly remarked: "It's all kicked off, it's all kicked off!"

Later, Perri was in tears as he received the first tens of the series after his Harry Potter-inspired skate.

The Diversity star, 24, wowed the judges after flying in a harness for Movie Week before gliding across the ice like he was flying.

Adorned in a Hogwarts-style robe, he and partner Vanessa Bauer were left speechless after scoring a near-perfect 39.5 after receiving three tens and one 9.5.

Asked how he felt by hosts Holly and Phillip afterwards, a teary Perri said: "Im just happy that it was on a routine when I was doing Harry Potter because I love Harry Potter."

However the audience had not been happy that Chris had scored him a 9.5 and let him know it.

"It's the first time that a 9.5 has been booed," Ashley joked as he gave his feedback. "There were at times when it looked magical, you were flying.

He added: "It was Harry potter, it was perfect."

Meanwhile Chris insisted that a 9.5 was still a great score and that his skating "speaks for itself".

"I love the way that you flow over the ice," he said.

John quipped: "The characterisation, the music - everything was a 10. It was fabulous!"

Jayne agreed, saying: "It was a seamless performance and you stayed in character. and you were skating in a harness!"
