Dancing On Ice boss hints Katie Price could join the show after Caprice quits

After Caprice Bourret sensationally quit Dancing On Ice, ITV bosses have got their eye on her replacement - and Katie Price is at the top of their list.

The show's associate creative director Dan Whiston said the former glamour model, 41, would be a good star to have on the show because she is "outspoken and fun".

Dan told new! magazine: "I've always said Katie Price would be a good signing. She'd be quite outspoken and fun."

When asked if the show has reached out to Katie, he added: "Not yet, but watch this space.

"Every year we're looking for the next challenge."

Caprice quit Dancing On Ice because her "mental wellbeing has been affected" by the show after she accused her skating partner Hamish Gaman of bullying.

The model and businesswoman, 48, had returned to the show last weekend with her new partner Oscar Peter, a week after she and Hamish parted ways.

During a live broadcast last month, it was announced she would not skate with Hamish anymore after clashing in training.

A statement issued by Caprice’s publicist said: "It's true that Caprice is no longer participating in Dancing On Ice.

"It's been a hard few months and she's had to keep silent for contractual reasons.

"Her mental wellbeing has been affected over the last two months and recent stories leaked to the press are not only salacious but extremely hurtful.

"Now she's taking time to recover and look after herself and her family."

An ITV spokeswoman said: "Caprice will not be taking any further part in the series."

In a separate statement, the rep added: "We take allegations of bullying very seriously, but found no evidence on Dancing On Ice and we strongly refute any suggestion to the contrary."
