Dancing on Ice 2022 line-up: Corrie's Sally Dynevor confirmed for new series

Dancing on Ice 2022 has started putting together its line-up - starting with one of soap acting’s longstanding stars.

Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor is the first name confirmed for the next series of ITV’s Saturday night hit.

“This is a massive challenge. It really, really is,” she told Lorraine Kelly.

“I’m not getting any younger. I’ve just got to take every opportunity I get so that when I’m old I can say ‘You know what? I gave it a go’.”

The 58-year-old is throwing herself into the demanding training sessions with some trepidation.

“Now everyone knows I’m doing it, I can’t back out, can I?” Dynevor said. “And I’m so scared.”

Who is Sally Dynevor and who does she play in Coronation Street?

For the last 35 years, Sally Dynevor has played Sally Webster on Corrie.

She first appeared in January 1986, when Kevin Webster's van ran through a puddle and splashed her.

Since then she’s battled cancer and escaped an abusive relationship, while her off-and-on relationship with Kevin ended when she married Tim Metcalfe in 2017.

When will the rest of the Dancing on Ice line-up be announced?

Two more names will be dropped daily. Alongside Dynevor, Bez from the Happy Mondays has also been announced for the next series.

It’s been confirmed that John Barrowman has been dropped from the judging panel on this series.

ITV said: “We thank John Barrowman for two brilliant years on the Dancing On Ice panel and are pleased to be working with him again as host of the forthcoming All Star Musicals specials.”

When will the new Dancing on Ice series start?

We know that the 22nd series of Dancing on Ice will be with us in January 2022, though there’s been no confirmation of the exact date just yet.
