"We look forward to her returning to the show next weekend."

Rachel is said to have fallen on the ice during training and as a result has sustained a fracture to her wrist.

The 43-year-old was due to compete for the first time this weekend alongside five other celebrity contestants. She will now skate for the first time during the third week of the competition.

It comes after Happy Mondays star Bez tested positive for Covid-19 following his amazing debut. He is also out until the third week of the competition.

He announced the news to the Daily Star, saying: "I've had a positive test. I'm gutted because I'm going to be missing training but I'm looking forward to skating on the show again for Week Three and I'll be tuning at home and cheering on my mates who are skating this weekend."

An ITV spokesperson told The Mirror : “We have stringent protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of all our contributors and staff which are routinely monitored and updated to reflect the current guidelines."

Dancing On Ice continues Sunday at 6:30pm on ITV.
