Dance preview: Dance Base Presents, Edinburgh

Navigating through the Fringe programme, it can be worth looking at venues rather than individual companies or choreographers. Dance Base has a good track record, and highlights of its opening week include Double Points K, a duet of aggressive visual and choreographic synchronicity by Rosie Kay, alongside Odd Johan Fritzøe's male quartet Balls (Wed 6 to Aug 16). In Parallel/Parallels, Frank McConnell uses song, dance and a score by Michael Marra to explore the concept of time, space and parallel universes (Wed 6 to Aug 16). Then there's Enclosure 44 - Humans (Tue 5 to Aug 16), in which the dancers of Janis Claxton's company offer themselves up as an exhibit at the Edinburgh Zoo.
