Dance music legends to headline Moovin festival

Pioneering dance music legends Orbital are to headline this year’s Moovin festival. The siblings behind rave classics like Chime and Belfast will be joined by a host of other top names at the boutique festival just half an hour out of the city.

Also on the bill will be jazz funk icon Roy Ayers, rap originators the Sugarhill Gang, Sister Nancy, Alabama 3, Louie Vega, the Jungle Brothers, Shy FX, Grandmaster Melle Mel and Scorpio, Moodymann and DJ Jazzy Jeff. It all happens on the August Bank Holiday, from August 26 to 28.

Other highlights from this year’s line-up include Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, Soul II Soul’s Jazzy B, Mad Professor, Don Letts, DJ Cosmo, Krafty Kuts, the Freestylers, Plump DJs, Dillinja, DJ Randall and Mickey Finn. And of course Manchester’s DJ prowess will be on show too, with sets from the likes of DJ Paulette, Jon DaSilva, Mikey D.O.N, Tom Wainwright and Graeme Park.

Weekend tickets are now on sale for £120 plus booking fee without camping, with the camping pass costing an extra £25 plus booking. There are also options to rent bell tents on site too.

Details on ticket options can be found on the Moovin website. It happens at the ‘eco-friendly’ Whitebottom Farm, in the Etherow Country Park.

Last year's event featured acts including Naughty By Nature, Basement Jaxx, Dave Rodigan, Asian Dub Foundation and The Mouse Outfit.
