Dana White comments on Floyd Mayweather's Instagram posts teasing Conor McGregor and Khabib fights

UFC president Dana White has appeared to confirm that Conor McGregor will fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. again this year after 'Money' hinted at a rematch with the Irishman on social media.

Mayweather posted just minutes after McGregor's stunning 40 second win over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 to share two posters: one promoting 'Mayweather McGregor 2 2020' and the other with 'Mayweather Nurmagomedov 2020.'

Mayweather and McGregor went head-to-head in the boxing ring in 2017 in a bout known as 'The Biggest Fight in Combat Sports History', with Mayweather coming out on top, and White said he had been in contact with the American over the two facing off again.

"Floyd and I have been talking tonight," White said. "We're doing something with Floyd. There's so much going on, but Floyd is in our plans and we are in Floyd's plans this year. We'll end up doing something."

It is not clear what form the fight will take yet, or where it will take place, but it is certainly a prospect which will get fans excited following McGregor's return to form against Cerrone.

McGregor also spoke out about Mayweather's social media post, criticising the boxer for leaving his company off the promotional poster.

"He forgot McGregor Sport and Entertainment so it’s me against Manny!" McGregor said.

"Floyd is going through money fast. He’s far from retired. That rematch will happen."

It has also been suggested that McGregor could take on Jorge Masvidal in the near future, and The Notorious said he would be open to the idea when speaking after his Cerrone victory.

"Anyone of these little melty fools can get it," McGregor said.

"All of them, every single one of them. It does not matter. I'm back and I'm ready."
