Dana White: ‘BMF’ title fight between Jorge Masvidal, Nate Diaz is ‘one and done’

The winner of the UFC 244 “BMF” title headliner will not get to defend his belt.

Speaking to fans in a Twitter Q&A, UFC president Dana White said the “BMF” title fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz will be a one-time thing, and that there won’t be a division or rankings for the title.

“No, this is a one and done,” White said. “This is a one time fight.”

According to Diaz, the fight is a title defense. He made sure to correct White at Thursday’s UFC 244 news conference in New York to tell him that on Nov. 2, he will be defending the “BMF” title against Masvidal.

Diaz and Masvidal were respectful and cordial toward each other and faced off for the first time at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York ahead of their much anticipated main event at Madison Square Garden.
