Dan Walker shares green screen mishap as he hosts Olympics

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker made a simple but silly outfit blunder this morning breaking a major green screen rule while presenting Olympic Breakfast.

The 44-year-old host wore a green shirt to work meaning he blended right in with the green screen Tokyo background and appeared as just a floating head.

Due to the pandemic presenters and hosts were not allowed to fly out to Tokyo to present the 2020 Olympic Games and instead are using a green screen background of the city and sporting arenas.

Posting on Instagram Dan captioned the hilarious picture where his whole body merges seamlessly with the background as: "I found out today why we aren't allowed to wear green in the BBC Olympics studio #FloatingHead #GreenScreen #OlympicBreakfast #Olympics"

The post gained hundreds comments with most people joining in on the fun and commenting laughing faces, including Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Oti Mabuse.

Currently, Dan is hosting Olympic Breakfast, instead of the normal BBC Breakfast, due to the time difference of the Olympic Games being held in Tokyo.

BBC Breakfast will return after the end of the Olympic Games where you will see Dan back on the red sofa and not blending into the background.
