BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker says his frenemy Piers Morgan is a 'decent bloke' following his shock departure from GMB over comments he made about Meghan Markle.
The 44-year-old journalist has made no secret of his competition with Piers, 55, in the past, over viewing figures for their rival daytime shows - which they sometimes feud about on social media.
Despite this, Dan reached out to Piers when he heard the presenter quit the ITV show after he received backlash from viewers when he said he 'didn't believe' the Duchess of Sussex previously suffered from suicidal thoughts.
At the time, Dan reached out to Piers on Twitter and offered him a chance to speak about his departure on the BBC Breakfast sofa.
Now, he has spoke out about what Piers is really like as a person and how he thinks there is a good guy buried underneath his fiery front.

He told The Times: "Piers and I have had a friendly rivalry, but it has been good for BBC Breakfast and GMB.
"He likes to throw a few insults around, but underneath all the froth I think there is a decent bloke fighting to get out."
Dan added how his breakfast show is 'very different' to GMB, but he thinks they do a 'good job'.

He added: "Our styles are very different, but the idea that you've not done a good job unless you demand resignations and rant at the interviewee is laughable."
The TV star then added he has no problem with being seen as the 'more measured presenter'.
Earlier this month, Dan tweeted Piers asking him to make an appearance on his daytime show to speak about his decision to quit GMB, writing: "Sorry to hear the news about your departure from GMB @piersmorgan. If you'd like to come on the UK's number 1 breakfast show to talk about it... we could make some space for you in the morning."

For the first time ever, Good Morning Britain managed to beat BBC Breakfast's ratings on the day of Piers' final showdown.
He stormed off air after having a clash with Alex Beresford.
Speaking about his victory in beating the BBC, he said: "I had one goal when I joined GMB – beat BBC Breakfast in the ratings. On my last day, we did it. That was down to the hard work and dedication of the whole team.
"They don't all agree with me, some don't even like me, but we were a team… and we won."
