Dan Quinn says Falcons plan to rotate at right tackle

So far, it’s been a tough transition for the Falcons’ new-look offensive line in 2019. Both first-round picks Chris Lindstrom and Kaleb McGary have dealt with serious healthy issues and it’s only Week 2. Lindstrom broke his foot against the Vikings, while McGary’s conditioning is still a concern since having his cardiac ablation procedure a few weeks ago.

According to Atlanta’s head coach Dan Quinn, who spoke with the media Wednesday afternoon, McGary’s conditioning is still an issue, so the plan is to continue rotating reps at right tackle.

McGary is obviously the team’s right tackle of the future, but Quinn is just being cautious. It will be either Matt Gono or Ty Sambrailo taking his place if and when the rookie gets subbed out. Quinn also said there’s a chance McGary could be 100% by Sunday and play the whole game.

Meanwhile, Lindstrom is out for at least eight weeks and has been placed on the injured reserve list. Jamon Brown will take his place at right guard.
