Dan Petrescu ramps up Celtic mind games as Cluj boss claims referees favour the Hoops

Dan Petrescu has continued his Champions League mind games ahead of Cluj's clash with Celtic and claims referees favour the Hoops on home soil.

And he's compared Neil Lennon 's side to European heavyweights Barcelona because of the way they dominate games.

Petrescu will take the Romanians to Parkhead on Tuesday as underdogs after a first leg 1-1 draw with the winners to face Slavia Prague in the playoff round.

But the former Chelsea star, who led his side to an 3-0 weekend cruise in the Romanian League over Hermannstadt, believes Celtic enjoy home comforts when it comes to officiating.

He said: "I just hope the refereeing is fair. It's normal when you play Celtic in the Champions League and they are at home, the referee gives them an extra ten per cent of the decisions.

"I just hope that doesn't happen here.

"When I've watched Celtic matches, I've got scared because they have on average about 30 chances on goal - it's like playing against Barcelona.

"They've played seven matches this season and apart from the games against us, they have scored seven goals, five goals and five goals again at the weekend.

"Celtic are favourites, of course they are, they win the title every year and they have young players and we have old players.

"We need to be lucky and I just hope I haven't used up all my luck against Hermannstadt!"
