Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa didn’t have his best game against the New York Jets in Week 15, as he completed just 59.3% of his passes for 196 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, one of which was a pick-six.
However, Miami ended up with a win at the end of the four quarters, extending their streak to six games. In games that Tagovailoa’s started and played a majority of, the Dolphins are 5-3.
While many people have been critiquing the quarterback’s play, quarterback-turned-analyst Dan Orlovsky believes he is finding he’s doing something special.
“I just think Tua has this superpower in his ability to move defenders to open up things for their offense that he can attack downfield with,” Orlovsky said on “NFL Live” on ESPN. “And, I think that’s one of the calling cards he had coming out of college, and you’ve seen moments where it’s been like a consistent part of his game, but now he’s doing it pushing the ball downfield.”
Tagovailoa hasn’t put it all together in his first 18 starts, but he’s shown some bright flashes.
