Dan Meis says he 'can't wait' to see the new Everton stadium at Bramley-Moore 'growing out' of the dock.
Meis was appointed as stadium architect at the concept of the project but announced last summer that he would no longer be involved with the build.
Yet the American, who has also designed the Staples Center, remains a follower of the club after having 1878 tattooed on his arm after being taken in by the history and fan-base of the team.
When plans to develop a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock received government approval on Friday, Meis wrote on social media: "It’s been quite a journey...can’t wait to see it growing out of the dock!"
Everton hope to move into Bramley-Moore for the start of the 2024-25 season.
