Dan Meis has shot down a rumour that Everton's preparations for a proposed new stadium have hit a snag.
The Blues have submitted a detailed planning application for a waterfront ground at Bramley-Moore Dock, which is expected to be determined in the summer alongside an outline application for the Goodison Park legacy project.
Laing O'Rourke were appointed as the contractor for the club's new stadium back in February, with the company having previously carried out the expansion at Manchester City's home.
But, one supporter on social media on Thursday evening sent Everton's stadium architect a rumour that the contractors had pulled out of the project due to complications around the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Meis was very quick to quash any reports of such an occurrence.
In response to the image, the American said: "This may be the only time I ever quote Donald Trump but that is Fake news..."
The coronavirus crisis has affected many sectors across the country as lockdown measures have been in place over the last two months.
However, the ECHO understands that Everton's stadium project is still going ahead as planned, with a determination on planning application still expected in the summer.
From that point on, the Blues would be looking to start construction soon afterwards.
