Dan Meis 'disappointed' to step away from Everton stadium project

Dan Meis has confirmed he is "not currently engaged" in Everton's Bramley-Moore Dock stadium plans.

The architect, whose designs for the project were met with huge acclaim in July 2019, has claimed that stepping away was one of the greatest disappointments in his career.

The ECHO understands that a detailed planning application on the new stadium, which was submitted in December, is still due to be determined in the summer.

But it seems that Meis, as things stand, is not part of the process.

The architect tweeted: "Let me be clear. I am fully confident that Bramley Moore will be built. It is both right for the Club and the city. Unfortunately I am not currently engaged in the project.

"How that was handled is one the greatest disappointments of my career, and at the appropriate time I will comment.

"For now please understand that this is my personal twitter account and believe it or not, not everything I write is a reference to Everton.

"I love this club and have loved the interaction."

Everton have been approached for a comment.
