Dan Le Batard Takes Swipe at Woj With Fiery Damian Lillard Trade Comments

Heat super fan and famed sports talk show host Dan Le Batard did not hold back when discussing the state of Damian Lillard trade talks as it relates to his hometown team and the Trail Blazers.

In fact, Le Batard was so fired up that he took some pointed shots at the lead reporter at his old employer ESPN. That’s right, Le Batard had plenty to say about the reporting of ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski throughout the trade talks involving Lillard.

“Thank you for bringing up Woj,” Le Batard said Monday on The Dan Le Batard Show. “The Heat know that he is just agenda-based schilling and bought and paid for by Portland. Like it is embarrassing that Woj is telling people it might be weeks or months on Lillard. And this is the Heat’s position, there are no calls going back and forth. The offer is [Tyler] Herro and Herro’s the best one you’re gonna get from anybody. He’s better than [Tyrese] Maxey. He’s the best you’re gonna get. You’re boxed in. Lillard wants to be with us. This is the offer.

“…Portland can do all they want with Woj sending out all sorts of smoke signals about pressure. It’s the offer, and they’re saying show us someone who’s better at that age than you’re going to get anywhere in the league from anyone given that Lillard’s only going to play here.”

It’s not the first time that Wojnarowski has been accused of being agenda-based, as many prominent sports reporters at the national level are frequently promoting the interests of their sources for information. After all, it is part of the game of breaking news at that level, which is something that Wojnarowski has been very good at for quite some time.

Perhaps Le Batard isn’t the biggest fan of his right now though, especially if he believes that it’s impacting the ability of his favorite team to acquire a superstar guard in Lillard.
