Dan John to deliver seminar at Co Down high performance gym

Influential strength and conditioning coach Dan John will deliver a seminar at a new high performance gym in Co Down this weekend.

Dan will be sharing his experience from a 40-year career as an athlete and a coach.

His visit on Saturday (October 26) will form part of the official opening of ATP High Performance Gym in Carryduff.

Dan - an all-American discus thrower - competed at the highest levels of Olympic lifting, Highland Games and the weight pentathlon, an event in which he holds the US record.

His career now involves hosting weekly workshops and lectures with full-time writing, contributing regularly to Men's Health as well as penning several books including Intervention, Never Let Go, Mass Made Simple and Easy Strength.

On Saturday there will be an extensive question and answer session with Dan at ATP.

ATP managing director Emma Brennan said: “If you are a personal trainer, coach, athlete or enthusiast this seminar will change your training and understanding only for the better.

“Dan John's illustrious career has spanned over 40 years as an athlete and coach, and has helped shaped strength training as we know it. He is also a prolific author who has had a huge impact on how we now approach training.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet a genuine legend in the industry and ask him whatever you want.”

The seminar takes place at the ATP High Performance Gym, on the Comber Road in Carryduff, from 10am-1pm on October 26, and there will also be a practical workshop demonstrating push band velocity-based training and advanced training protocols using resistance band and chains.

To book your place, contact ATP on 07515 640905 or  admin@alphatrainingni.com , or book via  eventbrite.ie .

You can pay via PayPal, over the phone, or cash at ATP High Performance Gym.
