Dan Burn calls new Northumberland attraction Lilidorei 'amazing' as daughter one of first to try it

Dan Burn has called a new Northumberland attraction "amazing" after his daughter was one of the first people to try it out.

Lilidorei at the Alnwick Garden was officially opened by the Duchess of Northumberland on Wednesday afternoon, with hundreds of children ready to run onto the world's largest play structure as soon as Her Grace cut the ribbon.

And one of those was Dan's older daughter, four-year-old Indi.

Dan told ChronicleLive: "It's been amazing! Unfortunately we got here a bit late but my little girl is four and it's been perfect to bring her round.

"Even the fact that we have got something like this in the area, I just think it's special to be able to come and use it."

Dan, who grew up in Blyth, said that he was happy to have been invited to the opening of Lilidorei and he wanted to give back to the community in his home county.

He added: "Doing stuff like this is a great opportunity I never thought I'd be able to get. To support the region in whatever way I can is important, so I like to give back to the community in whatever way I can."

Dan also said that NUFC's Champions League qualification "hasn't quite sunk in yet". He finished: "It's a special time for the club and city in general.

"I just want the best, you want to play against the best teams, and we're in pot four so we'll go up against some pretty good clubs. To even be talking about that is amazing."

Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope was also at the Lilidorei opening. It was his first appearance in public since having surgery on his hand, which will see him miss Newcastle's final Premier League game of the season against Chelsea on Sunday.
