Dan Biggar gets rave reviews as 'world class' Wales star leads English side's stunning revival

Wales star Dan Biggar is once again receiving plaudits after another outstanding display for Northampton Saints put the English side on the brink of the Gallagher Premiership play-offs.

Biggar kicked six from six in a 38-10 bonus point win over Worcester as the Saints confirmed European Champions Cup rugby for next year and now lie fourth in the table with one match to play.

Victory in their final game against Exeter will definitely put them in the knockouts and give them a shot at a first Premiership final appearance in five years.

Biggar's influence has helped spark a revival in the club's fortunes under Chris Boyd after they finished ninth in the table last season with just 43 points.

They already have 56 points this campaign, and Boyd is in no doubt how important Biggar has been.

"Dan has been really good for this club," he told the Telegraph.

"He is world class, a great competitor who expects high standards from all the boys. I don’t know what his kicking percentages at the posts are but he usually turns five points into seven for us. His kicking has been crucial and he keeps us going forward.”

This is how much Wales' best rugby players are now getting paid and why Gareth Anscombe is not happy

The Northampton Chronicle was also glowing in its praise for Biggar, with reporter Tom Vickers writing: " (Biggar) kicked every point that came his way in yet another hugely impressive showing at fly-half. Has been every bit the world-class signing Saints hoped he would be."

Biggar recently talked about why he left Welsh rugby last summer , describing it as "the best decision of his rugby career".

He played a key role for Wales during the recent Grand Slam campaign, steering Wales home against England and Ireland despite losing his starting spot to Gareth Anscombe.

Since arriving in the east Midlands, Biggar has notched up 189 points in 21 matches.
