Dan Bailey might have won the battle over Kaare Vedvik, connecting on both of his field goals on Thursday night against the Bills, including one from 54 yards.
The Vikings traded a fifth-round pick for Vedvik this month, which showed just how little confidence the team had in Bailey. But last week, Vedvik missed both of his attempts; on Thursday, Vedvik missed a field goal from 37 yards before connecting on one from 27 yards.
If Bailey gets the job (which he should), what do the Vikings do with Vedvik? Given the fact the team gave up a fifth-round pick for him, it seems likely that they’d keep him as a punter to save face, but we’ll find out for sure in the next two days.
