Damon Harrison sounds off on his critics on Twitter

Damon Harrison skipped the three days of Lions mandatory minicamp, much to the consternation and chagrin of many Detroit fans. They have not been shy about coming after the talented defensive tackle, either.

On Thursday, “Snacks” struck back.

Harrison posted a series of tweets laying out why he’s so important to the Lions despite not having gaudy sack numbers. Defensive linemen are typically paid the big bucks for bagging sacks, but that’s not Harrison’s game. He instead is the best run defender in the NFL over the last several seasons and described how that helps the pass rush in his own way.

Harrison’s Twitter thread, in screenshot form so you don’t have to keep reading the prior entry:

The “learn y’all” comment is not Harrison not knowing grammar; it’s a colloquialism.

Creating third-and-longs is something we can all rally behind, and Harrison is correct: He’s really great at it.

On the contractual front, the Lions have not said anything publicly to this point. Harrison has no further Lions obligations until training camp starts in about six weeks. He added a few responses later, too. If you’re interested, follow Harrison on Twitter with the handle @Snacks.
