Damon Harrison recruiting players to join him with the Lions

The Detroit Lions desperately need help at wide receiver. Oddly enough, one of the team’s defensive standouts is trying to do something about it.

Damon Harrison has taken to his (always engaging) Twitter account to try and recruit some wideouts to join him with the Lions.

Harrison made a misty-eyed plea to Tate, his teammate for a week in Detroit:

Tate was traded to Philadelphia a week after the Lions imported Harrison from the Giants. Detroit sorely missed Tate’s presence, and now he’s a free agent.

That followed a whimsically wistful outreach to his old New York teammate, All-Pro wideout Odell Beckham Jr. The standout WR is the subject of furious trade rumors.

Interestingly, one of his old Giants teammates who is now a coveted free agent interacted with Snacks, too. Landon Collins is someone widely speculated to be a Lions priority. The safety remains tight with Harrison, Devon Kennard and the other ex-Giants already in Detroit.

None of his efforts might pay off, but we all appreciate Harrison for trying to get a better team around him.
