Damon Harrison has been removed from NFI list

After removing Darius Slay from the Non-Football Injury (NFI) just over a week ago, the Detroit Lions made another significant change to their training camp roster today by removing defensive tackle Damon Harrison from the NFI list as well — Coach Matt Patricia announced at his morning press conference.

By holding out of spring camps over contract disputes with the Lions, it appeared Harrison needed to clean up some medical paperwork this fall before he was able to participate in training camp.

After a brief stint on the NFI list, he now appears to have met league requirements, passed his medical tests and can now join their teammates on the field.

While Harrison is a seasoned veteran and likely doesn’t need significant practice time, it’s nice to get a defensive leader back in the fold. Just his presence alone should bring energy to the field, as well as, another teacher capable of providing guidance to younger players.
