Damon Galgut, Helen Simpson, the London Book Fair and the Orange prize

As the publishing industry begins to take stock of the wash-out that was this year's London book fair, our panellists track down some of the people and projects that did make it. Digital innovations loomed large, including an interactive story-tellling project from the novelist Naomi Alderman, and a range of new apps designed to whisk cookery writers such as Nigella Lawson into the future.

We discuss memory, desire and danger with the South African writer Damon Galgut whose new, genre-busting book tells three stories from his own travelling past.

We also discuss this year's Orange Prize shortlist, and Helen Simpson reads a brilliant new short story from her latest collection.
