Damon Arnette signs rookie contract with Raiders

Another former Ohio State football player has signed his rookie contract.

Just a couple of days after former Buckeye defensive end Chase Young reportedly signed his rookie deal with the Washington Football Team (still sounds weird to say), former cornerback Damon Arnette has now inked his entry-level contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The news comes via everyone’s favorite NFL insider, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport. The deal is reportedly for four years and worth $13.4 Million, with a signing bonus of around $7.3 Million.

Arnette came back to Ohio State for his senior season after flirting with an early departure to the NFL after his junior year in 2018. He heeded the advice of others, including former Buckeye receiver Cris Carter and came back for one more season. It paid off, as Arnette was taken in the first round as the No. 19 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Like other rookies that are tying up contract terms, Arnette can now focus on the NFL and his contributions to what the Raiders are building in Sin City.
