Damion Willis is the undrafted free agent tearing up Bengals camp so far

The Cincinanti Bengals need somebody to step up at wideout with A.J. Green out of the picture for an unknown amount of time and John Ross battling another issue.

That someone might be undrafted free agent Damion Willis.

Willis, who joined the team after a strong stint at Troy, has been turning heads so far in camp, per Andy Dalton himself, via Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com:

Asked which young receiver has impressed him, Dalton didn’t hesitate. Troy’s undrafted Damion Willis. Or “D. Will,” as he’s called. He had a nifty one-handed catch down the left sideline in one-on-ones.

And the quarterback himself isn’t the only one who has taken note:

While most of the undrafted wideout attention had previously gone to Stanley Morgan, Willis is getting hard to ignore.

At 6’3″ and 204 pounds coming out of a season in which he caught 56 passes for 876 yards and 10 touchdowns, Willis might be one of those players capable of making a big final-roster push at this pace.

Maybe the hype is a bit premature, but with guys like Cody Core and Josh Malone having a few years under their belts and no breakout, the door seems to be open for a surprise like Willis.
