Damien McCrory returns as Neal Ardley names Notts County team to face Telford

Notts County defender Damien McCrory made his long-awaited return from injury this afternoon as Neal Ardley named his starting 11 to face Telford in their latest pre-season friendly.

The Irishman missed the Magpies' play-off campaign in July and August following a knee operation but is now deemed fit enough to play his part this afternoon.

But while he was glad to be back in action, Notts travelled without former Danish international Casper Sloth who was ruled out because of a tight hamstring, while summer signing Jake Reeves was rested.

Otherwise Ardley named a strong team to face Conference North side Telford with the back five consisting of Sam Slocombe in goal, Dion Kelly-Evans at right-back, Alex Lacey and Sam Graham at centre-back and McCrory in his left-back role.

In midfield was Enzio Boldewijn, Michael Doyle, Ruben Rodrigues and Callum Roberts.

Up front was Elisha Sam and on loan Mansfield forward Jimmy Knowles.

Notts were also set to wear their new away kit, a sky blue ensemble that was revealed by the club this week.
