Damien Harris made history with monstrous opening touchdown vs. Bills

Offense was hard to come by for both the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills on Monday night. Fortunately for New England, running back Damien Harris had one of the biggest plays of the game.

Harris had a 64-yard touchdown run to put New England up 7-0 following the extra point. In addition to the run being an impressive statistical feat, he also recorded some history in the process. Per ESPN’s Next Gen Stats, Harris reached a top speed of 21.01 miles per hour during the run. That was the fastest speed by a New England running back in the Next Gen Stats era.

Harris made the most of his carries, rushing the ball 10 times for 111 yards. Harris had to leave the game in the second half with a hamstring injury, and he did not return. Nevertheless, his impact on the game was felt in more ways than one.
