Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard is from Oakland, so his first trip to the Western Conference finals is even more special for him as he takes on the Golden State Warriors, a team he grew up loving.
On Monday he told a great story about when he was in the fourth grade and he and his cousin ran into the Warriors’ former mascot, Thunder, inside Oracle Arena.
So this all means a lot more to him and it showed before Game 1 when he stepped off the team bus wearing an Oakland A’s jersey that had his last name on the back of it:
