All series long, Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard had remained shockingly calm while putting forth a dominant start to the NBA playoffs.
When the Thunder won Game 3, Lillard faced the incessant trash-talk from Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schroder — something that he mentioned on Tuesday night. He responded to that loss with 24 and 50-point games respectively — along with an incredible, series-clinching shot from 40 feet.
In every respect, Lillard let his play on the court do the talking, but now that the series is over, the Trail Blazers star had a parting message for the Thunder as they head into the offseason. Just take a look at his Instagram.
Lillard posted a quote from ancient Chinese general Sun Tzu, and it wasn’t exactly difficult to figure out whom Lillard was talking about.
“It is the unemotional, reserved, calm, detached warrior who wins, not the hothead seeking vengeance and not the ambitious seeker of fortune.”
Between his Twitter response to Paul George’s saltiness and that Instagram quote, Lillard has been dominating the post-series social media game.
