Young runners from across South Lanarkshire were last week given a chance to take part in a training session with superstar Dame Kelly Holmes.
Athletes from four clubs from across the area were invited down to Hamilton Palace Sports Grounds for the 45-minute training session, which was followed by a question-and-answer session as kids quizzed the double Olympic gold medallist.
The event was organised by Wilson Developments in partnership with Clyde Valley Housing Association and Action for Children Scotland.
Organiser Steven Wilson (pictured, right), said: “Dame Kelly was the keynote speaker at the Action for Children sports dinner in June. I am a member of the fundraising committee, and she offered the opportunity to have her join in a running club training session.
“We had athletes from Law and District, Larkhall Harriers, Clydesdale Colts and Rays Running Club all joining in with Dame Kelly, and the session went well.”
