Dame Deborah James partners with Tesco to raise awareness of bowel cancer

Dame Deborah James has just announced an exclusive partnership with Tesco to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer on of their Luxury Soft loo roll.

The campaigner, also known on social media as BowelBabe, was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer and has been sharing her brave battle with her loyal followers since her journey began five years ago.

Deborah, who is receiving end-of-life care at her parent's house in Woking, also partnered with Andrex to raise awareness of bowel cancer symptoms with 28 million packs to have all the symptoms on its packaging.

The 40-year-old has captured the hearts of the nation during her heart-breaking battle with cancer, as she recently said goodbye to her brother before he heads overseas to America on holiday.

Deborah is extremely close with her family, and is making the most of her time left spending it with the people she loves.

The mother of two enjoyed a pint in the pub last week after bidding farewell to her brother Ben before his holiday. The mother daughter duo were sat in front of a canal at a country pub called The Anchor in Woking.

Over the last few years, Deborah has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of bowel cancer symptoms. Symptoms for bowel cancer include, persistent change in your bowel habits, rectal bleeding or blood in your stool, persistent abdominal discomfort, such as cramps, gas or pain and a feeling your bowel isn't completely empty.

Thanks to her partnership with Tesco, signs and symptoms, plus an exclusive message will appear on all packs of Tesco Luxury Soft Toilet Paper, available to purchase from the 25 th July online and 17 th October in store.

Additionally, Tesco and toilet paper supplier WEPA UK have teamed up to make a £300,000 donation to the Bowelbabe Fund.

Speaking on the partnership, Dame Deborah James said: “I’m thrilled to have the backing of Tesco on this, as the sheer scale of its customer and colleague base means our campaign will reach even more people and have the potential to save many more lives. For those who are concerned about potential symptoms, I urge you to speak to someone as soon as possible. Don’t delay as early diagnosis can make a huge difference.”
