Damarious Randall wants to finish his career as a Brown: ‘I just love Cleveland’

Damarious Randall has only been with the Browns for one full season, but the team, not to mention the city of Cleveland, have made quite a positive impression on the standout free safety. He’s hoping to stick around a long time.

Randall is entering the fifth year of his rookie contract he signed with the Green Bay Packers as their first-round pick in 2015. He was traded to the Browns in the 2018 offseason for QB DeShone Kizer and quickly thrived in his new home.

“I would want to finish my career here in Cleveland,” Randall said before Tuesday’s practice session at Browns minicamp. “I love it here. The fans, the coaches, everybody in charge here. I just love Cleveland.”

Keeping him with the Browns could be a challenge. He’s due to hit free agency in 2020 and has played his way into line for a big new deal, one the Browns might not be able to afford with so many other worthy mouths to feed. It’s a good new problem to potentially have, and Randall will play a big role in new coordinator Steve Wilks’ defensive scheme.
