Damarious Randall among 4 Browns missing Tuesday’s practice

The Cleveland Browns held practice on Tuesday in Berea. Playing on Monday night in Week 2 changes the calendar a bit, and the Tuesday practice is part of the adjustment.

Four Browns did not participate in the open portion of practice. That includes starting safety Damarious Randall, but his absence should just be temporary. Randall was out with an illness. Coach Freddie Kitchens confirmed it was an illness in his post-practice press conference.

Offensive tackle Kendall Lamm remained out and could be out for some time. Kitchens has not given a specific update, but Lamm’s leg injury could keep him sidelined for at least a week. LB Adarius Taylor (high ankle sprain) and RB Dontrell Hilliard (concussion) also missed the session.

WR Rashard Higgins performed in individual drills but not in the team session. He injured his ankle blocking in the game and is not expected to miss any time. QB Baker Mayfield practiced in full, showing no ill effects from a bruised hand he suffered on Sunday.

The official injury report will be released after Thursday’s practice.
