Dalvin Cook is ‘trying to outrush’ Ezekiel Elliott on Sunday night

Fans will be able to see two fo the best running backs in the NFL go up, indirectly, against each other on Sunday Night Football. It will be the Vikings and Cowboys, but it will also be Dalvin Cook and Ezekiel Elliott.

For Cook, he has the goal of getting more yards than Elliott. If he can do that, he thinks the Vikings will win.

“I’m trying to go outrush [Ezekiel Elliott],” Cook said via USA TODAY. “And I know he’s trying to do the same thing. It all comes back to this game is going to be won in the trenches.”

Let’s get to the numbers.

Cook leads the NFL with 894 yards and is averaging a career-high 5.1 yards per carry and 99.3 rushing yards per game. He has five 100-yard games under his belt this season.

As for Elliott, he’s played one less game than Cook, and has 741 rushing yards and is averaging 4.7 yards per carry and 92.6 yards per game. He also has five 100-yard games under his belt, including three straight.

We’ll see who gets the edge on Sunday night, and whether or not that results in a win for that respective team.
