Dalton Park welcomes new outdoor clothing store Saltrock to outlet shopping centre

An outdoor clothing retailer has opened its first North East branch at one of the region's outlet shopping parks.

Saltrock has over 60 stores across the UK and has now expanded with a brand new store in County Durham, creating 10 jobs in the area. The store, at Dalton Park, specialises in outdoors-inspired clothing and is a surf heritage brand born out of North Devon, with a passion for the outdoors in the sea or on land.

It was launched in Braunton in 1987 selling products designed with a creative spirit through hand crafted bold graphic prints inspired by a love for the ocean and open spaces.

Richard Kaye, Centre Manager at Dalton Park said: "We're thrilled to welcome Saltrock to Dalton Park. A brand that embodies passion for the outdoors, bringing a fresh offer to our diverse retail mix and a unique blend of vibrant apparel to inspire adventure. This is an exciting milestone for Saltrock and we have no doubt they will prove to be a popular choice for our customers."

Dalton Park is the biggest outlet shopping destination in the North-East, with over 65 stores selling 200 different brands and designer labels up to 60% off. Brands on offer include iconic and luxury brands, such as Molton Brown, Levi’s, and Ben Sherman, athletic labels like New Balance and Adidas, outdoor essentials including Regatta, Mountain Warehouse and Trespass and high-street favourites such as M&S and Next.

Saltrock's MD, Martin Williamson-Cary, said: "This is our first new opening of 2023 and we’re extremely excited to join the Dalton Park line-up. We have a strong customer presence across Northumberland and Tyne and Wear and when we were presented with this opportunity, in the biggest outlet shopping centre in the North East, we jumped at the chance."

Marie Clarke, Head of Brand & Marketing of Saltrock, said: "The new store environment celebrates the brand heritage while being relevant to each location. With Dalton Park’s proximity to the heritage coast and its beaches, rugged cliffs and imposing headlands, it is the perfect location for our brand story."
