Dalston crash: Man, 69, dies after collision between lorry and pedestrian

A 69-year-old man has died after being hit by a lorry in east London.

The incident happened at around 1pm in Kingsland Road, Dalston.

Police were called to the scene following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry.

A Scotland Yard statement said: "Sadly the pedestrian, a man aged 69 , was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and we await a formal identification.

"The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and is currently assisting police with their inquiries."

The road was closed but has since reopened.

No arrests have been made.
