Dalmeny Street Park in Edinburgh cordoned off by police after woman sexually assaulted

Dalmeny Street Park in Leith has been cordoned off by police after a woman was sexually assaulted.

Tape has been put up around the park, with officers currently in attendance at a section close to Iona Street. Forensic teams are also at the scene.

At around 11am on Saturday one police vehicle could be seen parked on Iona Street, with officers present at each entrance to the park.

Police Scotland say that they received a report that a woman had been victim to a serious sex attack on Friday evening, and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report that a woman had been seriously sexually assaulted in Dalmeny Park, Edinburgh, around 10.45pm on Friday, 17 January, 2020.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
