Dalmatians duo love their new spotty toy which sings Christmas tunes

Some might say November is too early to start playing Christmas songs, but these two Dalmatians would disagree.

This heartwarming video, captured by owner Laura Williams, 29, from Tremerichion, near St Asaph, shows her two spotty dogs getting well into the Christmas spirit already.

The larger Dalmatian, 18-month-old Buddy, and his younger sister, five-month-old Lady, have been having lots of fun with their new, mini Dalmatian toy which sings festive tunes.

In the clip, the pair can be seen jumping up excitedly and giving the toy a good old sniff as they welcome it into their pack.

Laura said: “My partner found the toy in B&Q, but I think from memory they had it last year as well.

“He just walked into B&Q and there it was, which is obviously a bit of a coincidence because we’ve got two at home. So he was just like ‘I’m going to have to get one’.”

Her partner, David Robbins, 27, was right to do so as the two dogs couldn’t be happier to see the new toy.

The video shows David ask the pair, “Do you like him?” and Buddy woofs a resounding 'yes' in response.

Laura says it’s not unusual for Buddy to be enthusiastic about Christmas and last year he accidentally caused a bit of mayhem by how excited he was.

She said: “He was very excited last Christmas because he’s sort of sensitive to change, so he was quite thrown by all of the extra things that were out.

“He was very interested in the tree and we lost quite a few baubles because of his tail.

“We bought a real Christmas tree last year because I love a real tree and he was so interested in it.

“He was always wagging his tail near it and it was constantly dropping pine needles, so I think we’re going to have to get an artificial one this time round.”

Buddy and Lady haven’t lost interest in the toy and Laura even uses it to her advantage when the two are up to no good.

The two Dalmatians make a great pair (Laura Williams)

She said: “I’ve been using it when I want to get their attention or they’ve both been naughty. I turn it on and they both immediately stop what they’re doing and run over, so it’s been quite a good distraction to have.”

Laura got Buddy during the first lockdown and describes him as a “Velcro dog”, as he’s always stuck to her and her partner like glue, but Lady is a little more independent.

She thinks the two Dalmatians make a great pair, as she said: “They’re lovely together. Buddy will pretend he doesn’t like her, he’ll look away when she’s trying to play, but they are best friends.”
