A bridge over the River Clyde has been closed to traffic again this evening after a second device was found in the river by magnet fishers.
Police have confirmed that Dalmarnock Bridge on Dalmarnock Road has been closed again, just over an hour after it reopened to traffic following the discovery of an unexploded device this afternoon.
Footage seen by Glasgow Live shows police at the scene alongside members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit.
It is believed that the second unexploded device found in the river by magnet fishers is a grenade, similar to that which was found this afternoon at the same location.
Following the earlier find, Mark McGeachin of the group told Glasgow Live that he placed the unexploded device - alongside two artillery rounds - in a nearby grit bin and "ran away" as fast as he could while he awaited for police to arrive.
And speaking about the second find, Mark McGeachin told Glasgow Live: “We flung the magnet back in the Clyde again at the same spot and within five minutes we found another grenade.
“We pulled it out and put it in a bucket and then I ran up and put it in the same yellow grit bin as before about 50/100 yards away and called the police again.
“Meanwhile one of my friends told pedestrians that were crossing the bridge to get on the other side of the road.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Following an earlier report of unexploded ordnance that was found near Dalmarnock Road, Glasgow, and dealt with by Royal Navy bomb disposal specialists, another report was received around 5.20pm.
"Road closures will be put in place and specialists will re-attend to carry out their procedures."
UPDATE - Unexploded device removed by bomb disposal experts and road reopened to traffic.
