Dallas Cowboys receiver Jon'Vea Johnson is one of six NFL players placed on the NFL's reserve/COVID-19 list.
Per a source, Johnson took a test last Thursday with the rookies and first-year players and was informed of his positive test on Friday. Johnson, who has no symptoms and is believed to be asymptomatic, is expected to be re-tested again on Thursday, per a source.
He must pass two tests before being allowed in the team facility. The full team reports to training camp on Tuesday to begin testing.
The other players who tested positive are Cleveland Browns running back Dontrell Hilliard, Baltimore Ravens defensive back Nigel Warrior, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Kendall Futrell, Browns defensive back Jovante Moffatt and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Aleva Hifo.
Being placed on the list does not mean the players have tested positive for the coronavirus. It is possible for a player to be placed on the list due to potential exposure.
Johnson tested positive, per a source.
Running back Ezekiel Elliott is the only other known Cowboys player to test positive for COVID-19, which happened last month.
Johnson joined the Cowboys last season as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo. After an impressive off season and start to training camp, Johnson appeared to be in line for a roster spot. But he was a disappointment during the preseason before suffering a shoulder injury in the final game, forcing the Cowboys to place him on injured reserve.
If he can get healthy and placed back on the active roster, Johnson has a chance to make the roster as only Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and rookie top pick CeeDee Lamb are considered locks at receiver.
