Arsenal transfer target Yannick Carrasco has been suspended by Dalian Yifang.
This is in relation to the Belgium international missing the clash against Hebei China Fortune F.C. in the Chinese Super League on Saturday afternoon.
Despite having a perfect explanation for his absence, Dalian Yifang have opted to punish him.
"Yannick Carrasco of the Dalian Football Club was absent from the away game against Hebei China Fortune and missed training," the club wrote in a statement ."The club now imposes the following penalties on him: Order Carrasco to apologise to the team within three days and stop training.
"The club has always attached importance to the team’s discipline construction, and no individual is above the collective.
"The club treats everyone equally."
Carrasco's agent, Christphe Henrotay, did confirm the winger was to miss the game due to a flight delay upon returning to China after representing Belgium on international duty last week.
His flight was Brussels-London-Beijing but a delay in the first flight from Belgium to the English capital caused him to miss the connection to China.
Carrasco himself took to Twitter and updated the Yifang fans on the situation.
"For reasons beyond my control, I could not arrive in time to help my team today," he tweeted. "My desire to win matches with Dalian is intact.
"I wish my team good luck! I'll be there to help my club, my president win the next one!"
