Dalbeattie Scout Groups Christmas card delivery service returns for 2021 festive period

Dalbeattie Scout Group’s Christmas card delivery service has returned for the festive period.

Scout Post, which began in 2015, will run until December 17 and, for just 30p, will deliver cards anywhere within the town’s 30mph limits.

Cards can be posted, along with the fee in a sealed package, in the postbox at M McCowan and son on the High Street or through the sorting office door at Jas P Wilson’s pop-up shop opposite the petrol station.

Cards will be delivered on December 12 and 19 and any addressed for Castle Douglas will not be delivered.

Scout leader Wull Davidson said: “I’m pleased that the delivery service is up and running again this year after restrictions last year did not allow the service to be organised.

“People in the town missed the service last year and have been asking if it would go ahead this year. I hope that all our usual customers post their cards again this year.

“We delivered nearly 700 cards in 2019 and I hope there are just as many this year, if not more.”
