Dalbeattie's first ever makers market proves to be a success

Dalbeattie’s first ever makers market was a huge success on Saturday.

Crafters and producers were delighted with the number of locals who turned up at the parish church hall to see what was on offer.

The market was organised by friends Clare Ballott and Linda Fricker.

Linda said: “Everything went well, there was a good turnout and everyone seemed really happy.”

The first market saw stall fees go to Dalbeattie Parish Church, around £200 from the day.

It is hoped the markets will become a monthly attraction starting from the first Saturday in May. Linda added: “We have spoken to the council and they have said as long as there are no objections they can’t see why we won’t get our licence so fingers crossed.”
