Dalbeattie Primary pupils overcome coronavirus restrictions to put on nativity show

Despite the coronavirus restrictions this year, Dalbeattie Primary still wanted it to feel like Christmas at school.

So while the younger children could not put on a proper nativity show to an audience in school, they tried to do the next best thing so that they could share it with parents and family at home.

It was an ambitious undertaking but the children rehearsed and filmed a simple nativity in one single afternoon within one bubble.

The primary ones were the traditional nativity characters in costume while the P2s from the P1/2 were the narrators.

It wasn’t the smoothest show ever staged but it did make the youngsters feel a little bit Christmassy and they hope folks at home did too.

The show was introduced by Santa and the video will be shared with parents before the end of term, as will more films from other bubbles within the primary school.
