Dalbeattie man's charity bike ride raises more than £2,600 in memory of Castle Douglas man

A charity bike ride raised more than £2,600 in memory of a Castle Douglas man.

Dalbeattie’s Keith Dingwall recently completed the 66 mile Etape Loch Ness event.

He took on the challenge in honour of Michael Coutts, who died earlier this year.

By completing the course, Keith raised £2,650 for Prostate Scotland. That figure was boosted as Joyce Clark, mother-in-law of Michael’s son David, asked for money to be donated for her 60th birthday, raising £650.

Keith would like to thank everyone who sponsored him and added: “It was a fantastic amount to raise for him.”

Michael, also known as Mickey, was involved with NFU Scotland and NFU Mutual for several decades, retiring in 2021.

He also served as a special constable and was a member of Kirkcudbright and District Pipe Band.
